The trail network around the city offers perfect tram tracks and miles of wonderful skating tracks. From Lillehammer it is a short distance to some of Norway´s best alpine centre. Hafjell, Kvitfjell and Skeikampen are the largest. Here there are slopes for all levels and nice children´s offers. In addition, there are smaller alpine centers, such as Sjusjøen Ski Center and Lillehammer Snow Park.
Close to Lillehammer there are some of Norway´s best cross-country skiing trails. Lillehammer has a trail network that stretches from the center up to the mountain. Here you can go cross-country skiing in beautiful surroundings to Nordseter, Sjusjøen and Hafjell Øyerfjellet. There are over 2300 km of cross-country trails nearby.
Lillehammer offers several great ice rinks. Vignesvika ice rink is a perfect place to go ice skating in beautiful surroundings on the ice of Mjøsa. Remember to make sure the ice is safe. The city also has many groomed ice rinks, including Sportsplassen, Nordbana and Fåberg.
Tobogganing is a popular winter activity in Lillehammer, right next to the ski jump. Here, children and adults can be pulled up by a lift and drive down a hill that is approx. 1 km long. Toboggan, helmet and soggles can be rented.
At the beginning of February, the Winter Park opens in Hunderfossen Adventure Park. Fun activities, adventurous entertainment and beautiful ice art. See the beautiful ice cathedral, the gallery of ice and snow sculptures or visit Kong Valemon´s ice cream bar.
For those who want a winter activity filled with adrenaline! Feel the pulse at a speed that can reach 100 km/h. In winter, you can choose between bobkraft and taxibob. Wheel bob is the summer´s answer to bob. The age limit is 10 years with a guardian, 12 years without a guardian.
